On My Grind Music & Entertainment SummerJam Basketball Tournament The 1st annual SUMMERJAM BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT will be take place in Pitt Community College Gymnasium 2008. The date will be confirmed by July 1st and will be advertised through radio, television, internet, and word on the street until tipoff begins. This NON-PROFIT event will be held to promote athleticism and community support for athletes in the Mid-Eastern North Carolina Region. Partner and local sponsor Beasly Broadcast Group (owner of six radio stations) will be providing assistance with organizing, finding other local sponsors, and most importantly advertising the event in over 25 counties in North Carolina. The all day event will consist of two tournaments, insanely fun contests, a DJ to keep the party going, cash raffles, and food and fun both inside and out of the gymnasium. There will be a tournament for ages 16-20 and another 8-team bracket for ages 19-25 and trophies and cash prizes will be given to the winners after the finals. The first community basketball in over 5 years will attract students from the two colleges by the hundreds, and by the thousands from the seven high schools in the district. Small businesses have already begun to sign up to participate and given us spaces to advertise the event onsite. Multi-Platinum Hip Hop Artist and Actor Jim Jones will speak to the audience and performing after the tournament. SUMMERJAM will be returning to Greenville for many years hopefully and continue to encourage people from the community to support young stars.
